Storyline: Dr. Malcolm Sayer (Williams) is a shy medical researcher who finds himself working in a clinic filled with comatose patients. Through patience and research, Dr. Sayer is able to awaken several of the patients.

Library focus: Dr. Sayer is shown researching his patients' condition in the medical library. Adam Bryant portrays the librarian who helps him research an outbreak of encephalitis.
